Could Presence Of Fluid In Cul-de-sac Be Normal?

Hello , I have just had a pelvic ultrasound done today because of some pain I was feeling in my left side. We discovered that i had an ovarian cyst on my right ovary, my left side however was showing some fluid in the cul-de-sac. is this normal ? The pain has now been around for about four days and is moving to my lower left hip area and my back.It feels little swollen as if there was water inside.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Right ovarian cyst means of what kind you should me specific.
If you are menstruating, having cyst in alternate ovary is normal.
Having fluid in pouch of Douglas or cul-de-sac isn't normal. Again not abnormal either. If you are in the middle of cycle, i.e. during ovulation, this is normal. Kindly get yourself checked with your gynaecologist.
