Could Nausea And Pain In Rib Cage Normal After A Fall?
i fell down icy stairs a week ago. my back landed where the 2 stairs intersect. i went to my physiatrist tuesday and friday. she thinks it s bad muscle trauma and some superficial, temporary nerve damage (at times i scream bc it feels like my skin is being ripped apart, yet a large part of the left side of my back is numb) and i think she s correct. i have a large hematoma from the impact right above my waist on the left side of my back. she gave me valium to relax the muscles(they re so tense i ve been walking hunched over and to the left since the fall) and a gel for the nerve pain. both are working. my only concern is i ve been fairly nauseous since last tuesday or so, and now am having pains under the top of my rib cage on the right side. is this common after a fall such as this?
hi there transient nausea may occur after injury. since you had a fall and injury in your left rib cage the area where spleen lies. in my opinion you must get yourself checked to rule out splenic trauma. the symptoms of such injury are epigastric pain, nausea, and left upper quadrant tenderness. if you are having such symptoms then kindly ruleout splenic trauma by going to ER. pl note that donot do any heavy work / exercise till then or for period of 3-4 weeks. Take Care
