Could Mucosal Thickening And Sinus Issues Cause Profound Nausea And Confusion?

Hi, I recently had an MRI for a syncopal episode, profound nausea, and 6 hours of altered LOC (confused state). A concussion occurred 6 weeks earlier. MRI is considered normal except for mild mucosal thickening in the maxillary and ethmoid sinuses bilaterally. Blood work and EKG s fine. Could this mucosal thickening and sinus issues create the above incident?

Hello,

A sinus problem cannot cause loss of consciousness and syncope. These were due to a concussion. For sinus issues consult ENT doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Varinder Joshi
