Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Missed Periods And Recurring Back Pain Indicate Menopause?
I am 49. No cycle for two years. One one ago I have severe pain in my lower right back (below hip bone). It improved with muscle relaxers, but had issues with low blood pressure. The pain has returned. I am sore in same spot and in front lower right (like gas). The pain is more like a sore, cramping like. Could it be related to ovaries and menopouse?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
At menopausal age, such symptoms are due to hormonal imbalance , (bloating, pain in bones due to calcium depletion).
Still at this age a full physical health check up is advised to note down any organic problems arising (like osteoporosis, breast problems, blood pressure or heart problem).
I would advise you to go for one and rest assured about a healthy postmenopausal life /to detect some health problem at early stage , so as to treat it well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
