Could Lump Inside The Tongue Be Due To Clogged Salivary Gland?

I was having a normal day ate nothing out of the ordinary and I developed a pea sized lump inside my tongue on the left side. I have been reading message boards and they say it could be a clogged salivary glad. I am not sure if it is related but my whole mouth feels kind of sore now too.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM. Understanding your concern. As per your query yes swelling on tongue ans soreness in entire oral cavity . It doesn't seems to me as a blocked salivary gland duct or a mucocele . The most probable cause of your symptoms is canker sore . Canker sores, also called aphthous ulcers, are small, shallow lesions that develop on the soft tissues in your mouth . They usually go away in few days without any treatment . There are many reasons for canker sore like stress , acidic and spicy food , minor injury to mucosa or any dental appliance . I would suggest you to do warm saline rinses 2-3 times a day , do betadine rinses twice a day and maintain proper oral hygiene .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
