Could Intermittent Vaginal Spotting Be Due To Birth Control Pills?

I stopped taking my 28 day cycle birth control pills on 3/21. On the 26th I drove all night to visit my husband 12 hours away. I slept for a few hours then I went to the bathroom and there was some blood when I wiped. Of course this made me mad, so I headed to the store to get tampons. The night of the 27th I was getting ready for a shower and when removing the tampon, noticed it had stopped. Plans back on track. So afterwards I went to clean up, and there it was again. He didn t say there was anything on him. So, tampon in. Next morning, it stopped, all day. Then again the night of the 28th we had sex again, and again, blood when I cleaned up. Changed tampons this morning, drove 12 hours home and barely anything there. Is this from stopping my pills? Is it possible that I could have been ovulating? We are trying, any advise is great.
