Could Brown Discharge After Unprotected Sex Suggest Pregnancy?
me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex last weekend, she's been on the shot for several years so we thought nothing of it. however, yesterday she had a brown clumpy discharge with cramping and minor illness, could she be pregnant? or could it be an infection?
Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.
Please do not worry.
If she is taking injectable contraceptive regularly, then you need not worry about the pregnancy.
I'd you have any doubts about the pregnancy, please get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy, at least 15 to 20 days after the unprotected sex act episode. This will help you to rule out dilemma about pregnancy.
Another common reason for brownish discharge can be pelvic infection, cervical polyp or erosion. This can be ruled out by a gynec check up including per speculum and per vaginal examination. A course of broad spectrum antibiotics will be of help. Please seek of your treating doctor fthe same.
I hope this answer helps you. Thanks. Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
