Could Blisters In The Mouth And Vagina Be Symptoms Of A Disease Other Than Herpes?

Hi, doctor! I had a fever for 4 days, the temperature ranging between 99.7 to 103 with blisters in my mouth and vagina, sore throat, some red rashes on my back (the rashes didn't hurt or itch) and my right eye watery and shrunk. I did see a doctor for this. She suggested that it might be herpes since I had already had chickenpox. A dermatologist also tested me and she did a skin biopsy and scraped a sample from the blisters in my vagina. am awaiting the results. Meanwhile, am asked to take Valtrex. It's been a day and a half since I started Valtrex.
My fever has subsided from taking Tylenol. But the blisters in my mouth seem to have multiplied, I have difficulty swallowing and have a burning sensation when I swallow while eating. Please help me with my questions.
1. Are these symptoms only of Herpes or could they mean any other condition? My husband or I have never ever had sexual intercourse with anyone other than with each other - also the sexual relationship with we share is extremely inactive.
2. If this is Herpes, will Valtrex take more than 2 days to show effect?
3. Can I go about doing my duties at home like cooking, doing laundry (folding clothes etc). Will my touching things spread the virus to my husband? I wear a mask when I talk to my husband or when he's around.
4. Can my husband touch me? What are the things I should refrain from to avoid spreading the virus?

Thanks a lot!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You had fever and other symptoms. The blisters over external genitals and mouth, I could think of the possibility of a type of drug reaction. Other than Herpes simplex infection, one can think of drug reaction. Consult your Physician and get well soon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
