Could Barium Test Be The Cause Of Choking Sensation And Chest Discomfort?

Diagnosed with hiatal hernia. Had a normal barium test. Feeling of something stuck in my throat and chest discomfort. Dr. said it could still be reflux even if barium test showed no reflux. I'm not worried about cardiac distress. Am wondering what is going on.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.You can be sure with one thing that its nothing to do with barium sulphate.
2.Barium sulphate is used as a contrast media because it will not dissolve, it will not interfere with any fluids, not absorbed.
3.Its never comfortable to swallow a tasteless material - it does feels like a nauseating sensation, this could be one of those.
4.If you feel sone thing o do with heart - get your BP checked and an ECG for a over view of cardiac wellbeing.
5.Since its for hiatus hernia such feelings might be there for some time. Good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
