Could A Distal Ureteral Stone Be A Cause For Concern?

What would a mild prominence of the proximal right ureter and the right ureter can be followed up to mid pelvis. More distally the ureter cannot be followed. There is a small calcification density in the region of the ureterovesical junction. This is approximately 2 mm in greater diameter and could represent a distal ureteral Stone.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The initial portion of your ureter(tube draining urine from kidneys to bladder) appear dilated most probably due to distal stone. There is a small stone of size 2mm near the urinary bladder. No need to worry as the stone is too small and no surgical intervention needed as of now. Drink plenty of water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
