Child Has Foul-smelling Stools. Reason?

Hi Doc. My baby is 6 months old and I started cerelac like 20 days ago. His poop was still smelling fine till yesterday I observed it was a bit nasty. He hardly takes formula in a day...Am trying to make him have formula since day before yday..but he had not more than 20ml last two days. Am not sure if formula is making his stool smelly. Thank you for helping.

Hello
Thank you for placing your query on Health Care Magic
Some change in consistency and smell of stools is normal when we start weaning a child. Only concerns are if the frequency increases too much, or stools are watery. Otherwise there should be no need to worry. Maintain good hygiene. That is very important. Also keep a check on the concentration of cerelac that your are preparing. Try to make the recommended concentration only. Your baby should do well. If there are still any concerns a stool examination will help clear all doubts
Hope that helps
God bless you
