okay i no you can but does it happen often because my mom just found out that she has it so i was just wondering

There are many, many forms of heart disease and many can be successfully managed with medications, diet and exercise. Your mother needs to do some research on her condition and talk with her doctor about changing things she can change and having her doctor manage necessary medications that can then lead to a longer life.
