Can Withdrawal From The Pill Cause Painful Contraction In Abdomen?

hello i just went off the pill 14 days ago, i was on it for 3 years, iv been getting short sharp pains in my lowe abdomen and what feels like mini unpainful contractions in my low abdomen. i have had 2 children prior and its like a brixton hicks contraction but less intence. what could this be from?

Hi,

You may be experiencing bleeding in the next few days.Withdrawal of hormones will cause shedding of the uterus wall.Abdominal cramps can occur due to this reason.

Antispasmodics or pain killers like ibuprofen can be taken to reduce the discomfort. In case of persisting pain,it is essential to take a pelvic ultrasound.
