Can Weight Gain Cause Painful Hard Lumps On Both Sides Of Ribs?

Hi. I woke up one day and felt pain on both sides of my rib cages l, touched them and felt big hard lumps on each side top and bottom . This was about 4 months ago. I went to my doctor who looked and saw that they were red, but said he saw no evidence of a inset bite. He told me it s probably choronistis and would probably go away on its on. I took x-rays and that came out fine. When I walk with my arms down, it almost feels like I have something sticking out of my ribs touching my arms. I m 6ft 330 pound. He said I need to lose weight. Could weight be the cause of this?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the given history here could be suggestive of some viral skin infection and it may be herpes one just wait for some time if it is so then it may not need any treatment, if it does not comes around then it could be bacterial infection, such case may needs clinical observation hope this information
