Can Underactive Thyroid Cause Constant Bloating, Blood In Stools And Pain In Abdomen?
i have blood in my stools and cronic bloating with painfull tummy pains...even when i wake up in the morning my tummy hurts and feel very bloated.. I do have heamoroids and is due for a conventional operation soon. I do believe its not my heamoroids thats is causing the bleeding in my stools as when i ve wiped myself clean there is no blood afterwards but do have cronic blood ish stains and looking brown ish fluid. Sometimes my heamoroids ache too. I am also born with an abnormal underactive Thyroid of which i inherited from my Dad s mother. It was discovered at the age of 3yrs when i started periods and was rushed to hopital and was in hospital for 9mnths then to obtain treatment for delayed time. I am now 49yrs old and am worried as my GP is treating me for normal Thyroid and not doing thorough checks on me. I would like to understand these health issues as i do worry about it. Thankyou, Alta
underactive thyroid can result in to the health problems you have as underactive thyroid leads to slowing of movements of gastro intestinal system. this reduced mobilty results in to ulcer formation in stomuch because of acid secretion. stomuch ulcer then results in to bleeding and bloating. so your GP is right in his decision however you do not seems have coplete relief by the treatment, i would advise you to request your GP to do other investigations and laboratory tests on you for definitive disgnosis and treatment which may include ultrasonogram and endoscopic methods.you may need antacids as a component of your treatment.
i wish a healthy life ahead.
