Can Typhoid Fever Reoccur After 45 Years?

I contracted typhoid fever in 1969 and was hospitalized for 10 days. Back in March of this year, I began being sick and I thought I have not felt like this since 1969: headaches, fever fluctuations, diahrrea, abdominal cramps. Is it possible to have a recurring bout of this 45 years later. My lab test show Positive A results for Salmonella Typhi H Type A, Type b, Type C and Typhi O, Type VI.

welcome to hcm,
you might be a long term carrier of the infection it is recommended to have a 28 day course of antibiotics and after that i want you check your stools another time to confirm all your infections have passed
have a good hand wash after coming from toilet and avoid handling food items or preparing it until you are free from the infection
hope this explains
with regards
