Can This Cephalexin Dosage Be Used For Pimple Like Bumps On The Body?

my husband is getting bumps on his skin that look like a boil. it is very inflamed and then getrs a whitr head a he pops them. they also hurt like a you know what. he was given cephalexin 250mg, take three pill;s three times a fay. we did this for three days and he got more and they were worse thanm before. they made him feel funny so we stopped the day before yesterday and they started to dry out without any more popping up. is the dosage wrong?

Hi.
As per your case history your husband is having multiple furuncles.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
