Hello.... 52 year old woman, (kinder-2 teacher, taking Effexor due to hormonal need(complete hysterectomy). Mother in law just died, difficulty with staff at work....) having butterflies feelings and nervous feeling in stomach for little over a week. Could it just be added stress or something more serious. Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Yes this type of feeling can be due to excessive stress. Stress releases hormones in the adrenal gland can cause increased gastric secretions that can be responsible for this type of feeling.
Other reasons that can cause this problem can be indigestion, gas, fasting or skipping meal, side effect of Effexor etc.
I would suggest you taking omeprazole 20 mg empty stomach in the morning. This would be helpful in case of gas, indigestion, etc

If problem persist visit your doctor
Hope this helps
