Can Taking Depakote Causes Muscle Spasms?
I have serious muscle spasms in my whole body. Where I am jumping off the table. I have been taking depakote for many years. I had my level checked and it s in the norm of range, 50 something to 120. Mine came in at 95. My neurologist is stating it s this medicine. Though he has not even got the results back from my EEG or MRI . Could he be right and these spasms are from this drug?

Depakote is divalproex. It usually given for epilepsy, migraine and mood disorder.
I dont think it can cause muscle spasms.
The common side effects of valproate are gastritis, sedatiin, diarhhea, weight gain and hair loss.
