Can Taking A Combination Of Prednisone And Xolair Cause Tingling And Numbness In Face?

I have had very severe asthma my entire life and it has gotten much worse the past few years and I have been on prednisone (high doses but am only on 20mg now) for two years consistently. My pulmonary specialist recommended Xolair. He wants me off prednisone and soon as possible as I am only 25 and the side effects are terrible. I tapered off prednisone but as my first Xolair injection came closer, the prednisone wore off and I was back on nebulizer treatments frequently. I had my first injection yesterday but began 20 mg of prednisone again today because I wasn t able to function at all without it and I was told the injections don t kick in right away. I ve never had this happen before but now for the past 2 hours my face and ears are very tingly like they are asleep. Why is this happening? Prednisone makes my hands and feet tingle but never my face. Is it the prednisone, Xolair, a mix of the two or something wrong? It doesn t hurt or anything. But my whole face feels like it s asleep. Should I be concerned?Thank you.

It's a stretch for the connection. However, changes in carbon dioxide level frequently changes nerve conduction and cause tingling in tips of fingers and toes. This can occur with changes in breathing rate, depth, or pattern, and is likely to occur with changes in asthma treatment , but indirectly due to the medications and can get better ans teh body adjusts to the new medications.
