Can Taking Nebivolol Instead Of Amlodipine Be Safe?

HI, My mother using the Sofvasc 10mg:Amlodipine (Besylate) :10 mg for almost 5 years- Now she has the problem in breathing and swelling on legs high heartbeat rates. She has visited a new doctor and he asked her to stop sofvasc and ask to start Nebivolol (Byscard). Is it safe to do so ? ( Mother had angina pain in past, no history of heart attack)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Yes this would be safe and may help with her angina. Swollen legs can be a side effect of amlodipine and may happen at any time during use. This sounds like a good change for her.
Regards
