Can Swelling, Pain And Redness Near Ankle Be A Blood Clot?

I am having a problem with my foot, very sore, tender to the touch, a little swollen mostly near my ankle. Skin is getting tight, a little red, This has been going on for about three weeks. It hurts more when I lay down. Is this a blood clot ???? History 6 years ago, heart failure, currently being treated. Age 61 male, I am being treated for pain in the same leg from my hip down to my knee, [ same leg as the ankle problem ] doctor put me on Gabapentin 300MG/ 3 times per day, plus Tramadol HCL 50MG 3 times per day

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

In addition to above treatment get serum uric acid, E.S.R, C.R.P, RA factor quantitative and fasting blood sugar levels done and send me the report.

If any of the test is positive then I add medication for that.

I hope it helps.

Thanks.

Dr.Singh.
