Can Swelling In Groin And Blood In Urine Cause Any Problem Fertility?

my son was kicked in the groin 2 days ago and on day 3 still has severe pain and swelling. THe pediatrician found trace amounts of blood in his urine and sent him for an ultrasound? Will this affect his future fertility or cause permanent damage?

Hi,

This depends on where exactly the swelling was(in scrotum or else where). If swelling was over scrotum, chance of testicular injury is there, and we have to closely monitor for its blood supply for few days. Still, if only on one side, this will not cause sterility. Blood in urine indicates bladder mucosal injury, and will resolve its own unless severe. Your doctor will explain in details after scanning.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
