Can Stress Cause Missed Periods With Pink Vaginal Discharge?

HI, I missed my last period due to stress and depression. Today and yesterday I have noticed a pink, sometimes orange, vaginal discharge. Usually this happens before a period, and within a few hours my period starts. It s been 48 hours and no period. Also, I am a virgin so there is no possible chance for a fetus to be developing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Emotion and stress are factors which could be involved in delay or causing irregular periods.
Stress certainly plays a role in suppressing the functioning of the hypothalamus, which controls the pituitary gland — the body's master gland, which controls the function of ovaries. Dysfunction of ovaries may effect the menstrual cycle in the form of missed periods or irregular periods.
However, in case this delay or irregularity persists for more than 3 months, it would be better that you get evaluated for it on consultation with Gynecologist.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
