Can Stopping Birth Control Pills Cause Pain In Joints?

I noticed that someone asked about joint pain after stopping birth control. I was on the pill for over 17 years and my general practitioner said at your age (54) you need to stop taking the pill . I stopped taking the pill for 4 months and my joints started hurting so bad I decided to start taking the pill again and my pain went away. At my next yearly exam my doctor would not refill my prescription and sent me to an OBGYN who put me on a low dose hormone for menopause after testing my hormone levels said I was in menopause. The low dose hormone has not kept all my pain away. My hands, elbows, lower back, hips, knees and feet hurt everyday. When I first stand up it is really bad but the more I move around the better I feel. I am still convinced stopping the pill is causing the pain.
