Can Senna Tea Be Consumed On A Daily Basis For Constipation?

I have been using Senna tea for a couple of years for constipation and I don t have any side affects, e.g. Cramps, etc. I have a thyroid deficiency & take a replacement which contributes to my constipation. Do you think I should not be using it every day?

Hello,

I don't think Sena tea can be used every day for such a long time. It makes your bowel lazy and gets used to doing its functions only in presence of Sena.

You can add more fibre to your diet, fruit and vegetables and lots of fluids and water. Try to limit usage of Sena. Initially try to use it once in two days then lower the dosages again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
