Can Saffron Extracts Be Consumed For Weight Loss?

Hi, I am interested in taking a saffron extract. Friends have told me that it would help me lose weight. I m 60, 5 8 and weigh 170. About eight years ago, I developed high blood pressure, and have been taking 10 mg of amlodipine, which works. (My BP is 128/80.) I m sensitive to some herbs; ginseng makes me euphoric for a few days but then I have trouble sleeping. Astragulus makes me dizzy. But I am interested in taking saffron for weight loss and mood elevation. Good idea? Bad idea? The dosage of the herb, sold thru Amazon, would be 80 mg.

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Even though there is no thorough evidence saffron is saod to supress appetite and enhance weight loss. It is generally safe and do not cause much side effects. 80 mg saffron per day is sage for consumption. Follow healthy diet and exercise regularly to ensure weight loss.
