Can Prostate-specific Antigen (PSA) Test Values Above 50 Indicate Cancer?

yes can you tell me if a psa number above 50 means cancer i had a prostate biopsy on oct 2 i should find out tomorrow for the results i did i lot of research and sounds like bph. i m 57 years old with no family history of prostate cancer. can bph cause those kind of numbers? i m currently on flomax been on it a couple of weeks now.

BPH can be associated with high numbers of PSA but at a level of 50, the most common cause would be a malignant lesion (cancer).

The bph would have to very severe to cause this significant numbers, if this is the case for you then it may be bph.
