Can Prehypertension Be Prevented From Becoming High BP?

i've been tracking my blood pressure at the local rite aid and it appears I may have prehypertension 136/85 today, although I am stressed about having 2 teeth extracted in an hour. Is there any way to prevent it becoming full blown high blood pressure?

Hello
As your B P was 136/ 85 mm of Hg.
Actually this is not abnormal but your fear is right .
You should be worried but not too much.
I see similar cases in my clinic and advise them to go on life style modifications for 3 months .
1 Take high fiber diet , green leafy vegetables ,fresh fruits ( not canned ) .
2 Cut down the processed food , white bread dough nuts , white sugar , fatty foods , salt ( avoid excessive), pizza burger should be avoided.
3 A 40-50 minute morning or evening walk everyday or a visit to a gym or a swimming pool .
4 Tension ( stress ) and anxiety are other reasons , should be avoided.
After a time of three months with these steps I retest my patient .
Usually most of the patients become alright .
If no change I advise them various medicine and adjust one of them according to condition of patient.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck.
