Can Pineal Cyst Cause Slight Crossing In Eye?

MY daughter was diagnosed with a pineal cyst four years ago... She has had three MRI and it has not grown. She is 31 years of age. She is now having a problem with her eye slightly crossed. Can this be attributed to pineal cyst? She is going to Eye Ear and Nose in B oston. Thank you.

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

It would have been useful if you mentioned the dimensions of the pineal cyst as that is important in assessing whether it can have compressive effects or not. Since she has had three consecutive MRI and the cyst has not grown I don't believe to be caused by pineal cyst, a sudden compression is not typical as they have a very gradual growth and it is unlikely to be the case of compression by the cyst after 3 stable MRIs.
However if you are sure this symptom wasn't present before and the eye doctor doesn't identify an alternative cause a repeat MRI might be necessary.

I hope to have been of help.
