Can My Condition Relate To Tachycardia?

I have had attacks for years. It seems to start as a spasm in the mid to upper back and then it tightens across my chest , up my neck and jaw. It can last anywhere from 5-10 min up to maybe 45 minutes. It takes my breath away. Since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia they attribute it to that but I was wondering if I might have tachycardia since My heart does flutter and race?

Hello,

You will need to have a heart check first with ECG and heart ultrasound. If these are normal then your heart is fine.

Fibromyalgia and muscular spasms may happen with anxiety so very likely, if the heart examinations are normal, these spasms may be related to anxiety.

You will need a good visit with your doctor to rule out neurological conditions first and if you have a normal neurological exam, and normal blood tests (electrolytes, and basic metabolic profile) then you need treatment for anxiety.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,
