Can Mixing Up Pills Delay Periods?

I missed three birth control pills on the third row and I took them until I caught up to the sugar pills. A sugar pill and an active pill was taken together. My period was three days late. Could mixing the pills be a result of my period being three days late?

Hello,
Since you missed 3 days of hormonal pills and continued to take the entire pack, your periods were delayed by 3 days. Nothing to be concerned.
Take care to avoid missing doses, otherwise you may be at risk of pregnancy
