Hello, My mom randomaly had loss of memory this morning while conducting her normal routine at work. She didn t remember where she was, why she was there, what she was doing and couldn t put names to peoples faces. My father took her to the emergency room and their first guess was a stroke. They had giving her a CT scan and it came back clear, EKG was fine, blood test was fine. They are keeping her here over night. The doctor then came in the room and gave his opinion that it is TGA (Transient Global Amnesia) and said that because she has migraines, that s the reason for her memory loss. I ve been reading online about TGA and the only thing I found with that relating to migraines is that it is just a higher risk of getting TGA if you have migraines same with people at the age of 40 and higher. I don t believe my mothers doctor, my boyfriends step mom had the same situation and the doctors kept on telling her it was migraines and she ended up having a massive stroke that completely paralyzed her. Can you help at all with your thought on our doctors diagnostic?
