Can Male Precum Cause A Woman To Get Bacterial Vaginosis?

can male precum cause a woman to get BV? if it is the case How can I prevent that from happening...I will tell you this...I not sleeping any other woman but just that one woman, and I was treated with Metronidazole 500mg twice a day for 7 days. Then I had sex with her again and she got BV. Do you think my precum have anything to do with it. Because when we use condom she is fine...but we rather not use condom if we can fix this...please help...

Hello sir and welcome.

Precum is unlikely to cause BV in women (although not impossible), but the more probable cause is personal hygiene. I would urge you and your partner to clean your genitalia and oral cavities (if at all oral sex is involved), just prior to your sexual contact to prevent BV.

It is also important for your partner to abstain from sexual intercourse until 2 weeks after the last dose of antibiotics prescribed for the treatment of BV, or else a recurrence is likely.
