Can Lyme Disease Cause Weight Gain?

I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in the beginning of August and have gone the course of doxycycline for 21 days etc. Since getting Lyme disease I have gained an unexplained 5 lbs., and I have changed nothing in my diet to cause this....Can Lyme Disease cause this weight gain? My thyroid by blood test was normal..

Good evening. Well no Lyme disease does not cause the weight gain as such, rather weight loss is expected. But it is a normal response for the body to gain weight once the infection gets controlled... Start exercising and it will return to normal
