Can Loss Of Appetite, Cramps And Diarrhea Be Caused Due To Some Infection?

I ve been without hunger/appetite, cramping with diarrhea, for about two days now. Today blood in my poop. I m not vomiting, no headache, nothing at all above my abdomen, all taking place low intestines. My co-workers have had a serious two day virus (thought it was food poisoning) so I just wanted to check about going to the ER today. Perhaps it s just a virus?

Hello,

Based on your history, I think this could be gastrointestinal infection may be viral or bacterial. But, having blood in the stool I suggest to meet a doctor and to do a stool culture to define better the reasons.

During this time should take a lot of water, electrolytic solutions and probiotic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monika Dede,
