Can Intake Of Amoxicillin Cause Hard, Painful Boil On Vagina?

Three days ago I got a huge boil? type lesion on the outside of my vagina. It s about 2 inches long, is hard in the middle and hurts a great deal. Have never had any type of outbreaks in/on my vagina. Three days ago I also started taking amoxicillin for a sinus situation that resulted in two infected ears. What is this and what can I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Amoxycillin can cause dysbacteriosis which can cause fungal as well as bacterial infection in vagina. So it is possible that you have got it like that. It can be bartholinitis. You can do hot fomentation and apply betadine ointment. Using intimate wash also will be helpful. But if it is not subsiding then you should approach your gynecologist for antibiotics/ incision and drainage.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
