Can Intake Of I-pill Affect Menstruation?

Hi doctor!! My question is, this month I had a sex with my hubby. With in a hour I had taken I pill. This is for the first time I had ipill. So I am tensed about my future pregnancy. Will this tablet affect anything?? Will my periods Will be regular?

i pill is an emergency contraceptive pill. You have done the right thing by taking it in an hour as it needs to be taken within 72 hours to prevent pregnancy.
It prevents pregnancy by causing break through bleeding within 3 weeks from the day you have taken the pill. Based on the time of bleeding, your periods might happen a little early or late following intake of emergency contraceptive pill.
Most often, bleeding happens in about a week from the day of taking the pill.
In case bleeding doesn't happen in 3 weeks, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
