Psychiatrist 's  Response
your compliants are suggestive of night terrors. Possibility of nightmare needs to be rule out as well.
Heart rate in sleep can be normal to be high as there is autonomic activity during sleep.
Holter monitering of heart rate during night can yield information regarding heart rate variation during night.
I suggest a consulation to psychiatrist as we should consider insomnia and common psychiatric condition like depression to be the causing factor. In case of which certain antidepressants group of medication along with benzodiazepines could be indicated.
