Can I Switch To Glimisave M2 From Amaryl To Regulate Glucose Level?

HI Doctor I have been taking Glimisave M2 for last 1.5 years but unfortunately my glucose level never came down below 180 (PP) and that too for a very brief period. I have been advised to take the medicine after meal. Prior to this medicine i was taking Amaryl 2mg and that too could not help much. My weight has been constant but have reduced from 64 to 58 a year back and has not gone up since then. I am in sales but managed to eat home cooked food. I want to increase my weight to atleast 67/68 as my height is 5.10. Please let me know if you could help me on this thanks in anticipation Prosenjit

Diabetologist 's  Response
dear sir i ca understand your concern
tab Amaryl is only glimipride but tab glimsave m2 is a combination of glimipride and metformin this might be the reason for weight loss
but maintaining slightly lower weight is good in diabetes as it will decrease your insulin requirements
pls do hba1 c and adding Januvia will help
regards
