Can Hiv Or Hepatitis Spread Through Reusing Cantharidin Wand?

I saw a podiatrist today it was my second visit he took a scalpel to the heal area I began to bleed....he dabbed the blood and than took the bottle of cantharadian using the wand in the bottle and put it on my open bleeding wound and than placed the wand in the bottle and put it on my wound again......I asked him if that bottle was just for my use he said no he uses it for everyone and I said well can I catch something from someone and he said no everything dies in this.....my question is does hiv or hepititis? I called him later on today and he couldn t answer that question......now my doctor primary care says I will need to be tested.

in your case there is no chance for you to contract HIV but there is a chance of getting an Hepatitis B infection.

Generally HIV Virus do not survive in open air so HIV virus can not be transmitted through instruments like bedsheets, plates, combs or any other daily used equipments.

but hepatitis B infection is possible. so once test for Hbsag test to check for hepatitis B and if test turns out to be negative then immediately go for hepatitis B vaccination.

to rule out HIV you can go to a near by ICTC ( integrated counselling and testing centre) where you can get tested and counselled for HIV regarding your Doubts.
