Can Hemorrhoids Cause Elevated PSA Levels?

Can hemorrhiods cause PSA levels to increase? my husband is going in for a biopsy for further testing because his PSA went up to a 9, between 4 and 9 in the last 9 months. He was diagnosed with hemorrhiods in January, but because of the PSA levels increasing they want further testing. He is 63 yrs old, keep up with regular check ups, had his routine colonoscopy last year (2016), everything was fine, Dr seen a small palate, clipped it off, tested it, came out fine. Now he is worried about the biopsy due to high PSA.

Hemorrhoids usually do not increase PSA values. This test is related to the Prostate. The biopsy he is going to undergo, would be a Prostate biopsy to rule out any malignancy. It is good that he is undergoing regular medical tests with normal reports. With increasing values of PSA, it is important that he undergo this biopsy, and if required further investigations and evaluation for diagnosis.
