Can Hemithyroidectomy Cause Mucous Drainage In Throat?

Hello, I am 9 days post right hemi-thyroidectomy. Have been back to the doctor to have the drain tube removed and am healing quite quickly. I m feeling great and have had no real pain or issues, except I seem to have, what feels like, a lot of mucous drainage or something in my throat and am clearing my throat almost constantly. What is causing this and can I do anything to help alleviate it? Thank you, JV

Welcome at HCM..
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns....
It is common postoperative symptom... All u need is reassurance and you need to do chest physiotherapy... Regular walk along with normal saline nebulization will help you a lot...
