Can Hcg Diet Cause Hair Loss?

I plan to start the hcg diet (the drops under the tongue). I ve been reading a lot of comments from women stating that they have experienced dramatic hair loss on this diet. I thought the pregnancy hormone helps your hoar grow faster. Please let me know of you have any knowledge on this whatsoever. Maybe these women have had hair thinning problems anyway? If it does cause hair loss, is there something I could do to prevent this from happening before I start taking the hcg drops

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of HCG is normally combined with a very low calorie diet. As you mentioned, HCG is produced in pregnancy (and most pregnant women gain not lose weight).
It is possible that the very low calorie diet may be responsible for the weight loss.

IN terms of the hair loss, it may be related to the dramatic weight loss. Telogen effluvium is hair loss that can be due to different causes including any severe physical stress on the body.
It is possible that the rapid weight loss may be physical stressing for some women. Steady consistent loss may work better for some.

I hope this helps
