Can Having Hysterectomy For Uterine Cancer Increase Chances Of Breast Cancer?

I am 65 and female. In November I had a radical hysterectomy for uterine cancer. It was 1b, grade 3. So far, so good with the recovery. Am I at a greater risk for breast cancer now? No one in my family had gyno or breast cancer....maternal grandmother died of stomach cancer. On paternal side, there are no living relatives to ask. Thank you, Pamela

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Having had uterine cancer doesn't increase the chances of having breast cancer. You don't even have family history of breast cancer do you are not at risk of having them.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
