Can Generic Adderall Cause Anxiety?
My 16 years old grandson has been on Adderall since he was 10. Recently he had to switch to a generic form because of insurance issues. He is now experiencing symptoms of heart palpitations, depression and some anxiety. Could that be caused by the generic brand, or could it be that his dosage needs to be lowered since he has gone through puberty.

It is likely related to the switch in medications. Though the main ingredient is essentially the same, the small differences that are present plus the differences in the inactive ingredients can affect the persons reaction to the medication.
Normally as a person approaches adulthood, the amount of medication that they need increases because of an increase in body weight, so it is not likely that it is related to a need for the dose to be decreased.
