Can Fibroids Give False Pregnancy Test Results?

hello dr. Nirja, Can fibroids can give fault pregnancy test? My period 25 days late. I have all signs of pregnancy. On 26th day got very light bleeding,which stopped in a day,but home pregnancy test is negative. I have fibroids. Can they give faulth negative result? Many thanks.

Welcome to the HCM.
Since pregnancy test comes positive when there is human chorionic gonadotropin hormone is elevated.Fibroid is uterine muscle growth.So it does not cause false negative test.You may get ultrasound abdomen done to rule out pregnancy.
