Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Excess Crack Meth Cause Sudden Death With Foaming In Mouth?
CAUSE OF DEATH: My brother was found dead in his home two weeks ago. The coroner told us he had foam in his mouth. He died with his eyes open. We knew he was a drug user, some of those were PCP, CRACK and METH. His girlfriend mentioned that a few days earlier, he was clinching his chest, went pale and fell to his knees. He didn t seek medical attention at that time. We are still waiting for the tox & autopsy reports. Just curious.
Thanks for your question. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
Unfortunately, you won't know for sure until the autopsy report and toxicology, and sometimes even then the answer is not clear. However, I can tell you that crack cocaine has strong rapid effects on the heart, and is a leading cause of heart attacks in young men. Your description of your brother clutching his chest and going pale would be consistent with a massive heart attack.
I hope this provides you with some useful information. My thoughts are with you.
