Can Dry Throat Be Related To A Respiratory Infection Medication?

I hav been told by a doctor I hav respiratory infection n was prescribed with montek lc for 4 days.... actually I had symtom of dry throat for a long Tim. ... later I feel more tired n week is it de effect of de tablet it has been more Dan a week since I stopped de tablet

I have gone through your query regarding dryness in throat after taking medicines for throat infection. You have taken tab montek lc. This tab contains levocetrizine with montilukost.

Here I would like to tell you that dryness in mouth and throat in your case may be due to-

1- Throat infection itself.

2- May be side effect of drug you have taken, because it is very common wit this molecule.

3- May be due to associated GERD.

To treat this situation you shuld take-

a- Plenty of fluid orally.

b- Antacid with PPI.

c- Ambroxol if dryness persists even after taking a & b.
