Can Condom Prevent Sexually Transmitted Disease?

I had sex with someone , three weeks ago on Friday. I used a condom, and have no symptoms , however my lymph glands in my groin area are swollen. I ve not stubbed my toe so I am worried, what are the chances of catching a disease despite using a condom (which did not split) ???

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello ,
I understand your concern. I am Dr. Arun Tank, infectious disease specialist, answering your concern.

It is not a STD of the incident you have asked for.

Condom is good protection for STD prevention. Since you have wear a condom there is no question of STD in you.

But examination of lymph gland is necessary since it directs you for previous exposure STD.

Glad to answer your further concern contact me on bit.ly/DrArun
We wish you a best health at healthcare magic.
Thank you,
Dr. Arun Tank
